Arsenal looks to strengthen their academy by focusing on recruiting talented young players to improve their youth teams.
Dec. 3, 2025, 9:49 a.m.
afcstuff: Arsenal’s fresh youth recruitment drive is being led primarily by technical director James Ellis. Within the club, there has been a sense in recent years that the standard of their academy teams has simply NOT been good enough. There is a high ceiling for talent, as shown by Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly & Max Dowman, but there is also a low floor. The hope is that targeting young players in the 16-18 age range will help raise the overall standards of the academy teams. Arsenal believe a higher quality of training & greater internal competition in the youth ranks would lead to more of their players being ready for the transition to first-team football. [@SamJDean]
