Ben Jacobs: EFL clubs have agreed to expand the number of teams competing in the Championship Play-Offs from four to six, starting in the 2026/27 season. Under the new provisional format seven fixtures will take place. There will be two one-off eliminator games (5th vs. 8th and 6th vs. 7th). The winners of these will face the teams finishing 3rd and 4th over two legs, followed by the Play-Off Final at Wembley.
